Work on Boston United's eagerly-awaited Community Stadium is now firmly under way.

Piling contractors have been on-site this week to work on the North Stand while bricklayers have made a start on the foundations for the West Stand.

The exciting news comes on the eve of what is set to be the club's final campaign at York Street, which kicks off against Chester FC on Saturday.

"I am delighted to say that construction has recommenced on the new Community Stadium, with the aim of playing football there at the start of next season," commented United chairman David Newton.

"Steelwork will start to go up in September, so things will start to be very real. We will continue to share the construction process with our fans as the build progresses."
