The 24-year-old former Sheffield United youngster has appeared for Chesterfield and Stockport County over recent seasons, in addition to loan spells with Tameside neighbours Ashton United and Curzon Ashton.
Dimaio has linked up with the Pilgrims on an initial one-year contract following his departure from Edgeley Park – a move that delighted United manager Craig Elliott.
"Connor is a player that I have liked for some time," enthused Elliott. "I feel that with a consistent run of games, he will be an extremely valuable player for us.
"He has experience of playing at big clubs and is at the right age to hit his peak years with us. He has great ability on the ball and will give us quality in the final third to unlock defences that at times we perhaps lacked last season.
"He was very much in-demand and I am delighted that he has decided his future is at Boston United."
