The scorer of Boston United's first-ever goal at the Jakemans Community Stadium is staying at the club for season 2021-2022.

Midfielder Connor Dimaio (25) scored the late goal against AFC Fylde which took December's Buildbase FA Trophy tie to penalties – with the Pilgrims winning the shootout in the process.

Dimaio, who made 15 appearances overall, has now pledged his future to the club by signing a new contract – news that has delighted manager Craig Elliott.

Elliott said: "I feel Connor is now coming into his peak years as a player. I hope this maturity and experience he has gained will help him to have a consistent season for us.

"He is without doubt one of the most talented players I have managed but I will be pushing him to deliver high performances week after week.

"I am sure when fans return, they will enjoy watching Connor up close as he helps us win games of football."
