The 25-year-old has put pen-to-paper on an initial one-year deal at the Jakemans Community Stadium, having made 30 appearances in Dale's successful run to the National League promotion final.

He has played in three of the four meetings between Rochdale and the Pilgrims over the past two seasons.

Having appeared in the youth systems of Celtic and Blackburn Rovers, McBride has built up considerable experience north and south of the border.

He has played for Stenhousemuir, Queen's Park and Raith Rovers in Scotland, as well as a productive season with Gateshead in the National League before linking up with Rochdale for a two-year spell.

McBride is the seventh arrival of a busy summer at the JCS, with more signings poised to follow.
