The Pilgrims head to Cressing Road for Saturday’s 5.30pm kick-off – aiming to arrest a poor run of form and steal a march on their Essex rivals in the process.

United have won all three fixtures against Braintree since promotion back to the National League – having added a 2-0 home win to last season’s 3-1 (home) and 1-0 (away) double.

There could be changes for the Pilgrims, with Marcel Lavinier set to be checked after limping off against Eastleigh, while fellow defender Tommy Fogarty has returned to Birmingham City at the end of his loan spell.

Oisin Gallagher and Ken Aboh have both renewed their respective loan spells and will be available for selection on Saturday.

Braintree are currently one point behind the Pilgrims ahead of kick-off.
