Boston United have added a fourth centre-back to their squad with the acquisition of experienced defender Jake Wright.

The 35-year-old has arrived from EFL side Mansfield Town, having previously represented the likes of Crawley Town, Oxford United and Sheffield United with real distinction.

The move has been in the pipeline for a number of weeks – and Elliott was delighted to get the deal over the line, to supplement existing centre-backs Luke Shiels, Scott Garner and Andy Butler.

"I am really pleased to bring in a player of Jake Wright's calibre," reflected Elliott. "Jake has shown in his career that he knows what is needed to be involved in promotion-winning teams.

"Giving us that natural left-sided balance and leadership, he will be a great signing for us.

"Jake's desire to sign for us was second-to-none and I sincerely hope he will be successful for Boston United."

Wright will wear squad number 16 at the Jakemans Community Stadium.
