The 37-year-old has linked up with the Pilgrims after spending the majority of the 2022-2023 campaign with beaten promotion finalists Brackley Town – culminating in assisting caretaker manager Gareth Dean towards the end of the season.

Woods has enjoyed an illustrious career, starting at Leeds United and going on to include spells with the likes of Sunderland, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley.

He has played for Ross County, Patrick Thistle and Dundee north of the border.
