Shipley adds defensive depth

Shipley adds defensive depth

Craig Singleton2 Jul - 10:30

Left-sided defender Lewis Shipley has completed a move to Boston United following his departure from National League rivals Barrow.

The 22-year-old parted company with the Bluebirds following their relegation from the EFL – and now signs an initial one-year deal at the Jakemans Community Stadium.

Capable of playing at centre-half of left-back, Shipley began his career at Norwich City, before enjoying loan spells with Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham Town.

He has scored three goals in 59 career appearances in League Two.

Shipley becomes summer signing number eight – following in the footsteps of Gavan Holohan, Nicholas Pozo, Kai Mauro, Terrell Agyemang, George Ward, Jack Holmes and Connor McBride.
